During the session: your call

The studio is private and the session is one-on-one, so what you wear while being sprayed is entirely about your comfort. Many first-timers wear a dark swimsuit or their own underwear; some wear less. The only real rule: whatever you wear creates a tan line, so choose lines you'll be happy with. Your technician is a professional with 20 years of expertise — there is nothing to be embarrassed about.

After the session: loose and dark

• Wear loose, dark clothing to prevent streaking or fabric transfer.
• Flowy dress, oversized tee, soft joggers — anything that doesn't press on skin.
• Flip-flops or slides instead of sneakers and socks.
• Skip the bra on the way home if you can — straps leave lines in developing color.

First-timer extras

• Bring a hair tie to keep hair off your face and neck.
• Remove jewelry before the session.
• If rain is possible, bring an umbrella — water spots mark developing tans.
